Mare e Cielo Inspirational Mood Boards

During the brainstorming and design process of our first jewelry collection, Caro and I learned that we have a very unique way of communicating ideas to one another that I imagine can only be attributed to the fact that we are sisters and grew up together. When trying to convey a concept, we reference memories, emotions, events, people and parts of our childhoods that inspire us. However, when it comes time to make ideas a reality, nothing is more visually clear than an inspiration or mood board.

Just for fun, we are sharing our personal mood boards for the Mare e Cielo Collection as a way to introduce ourselves to you. I think they represent our individual personalities and styles and it’s a fun way to see how the collection came together.

CAROLINA’S MOOD BOARD, PLAYLIST AND SCENTS

“I love the lights and sparkles of the festivities of winter but dream about warm summers on the Mediterranean. My sister and I share this in common! This collection is inspired by the magic of the sea and its creatures under a starry, sparkly night sky. These charms and symbols were hand picked for their special meanings for you to enjoy throughout this holiday season and beyond. I hope this collection - and our mood boards - brings joy and warmth to its wearers.”

Some music, scents, and vibes to continue the Mare e Cielo vibes.

Daniela’s Mood Board

“Coming into this collection, I was heavily influenced by the series I was reading at the time, A Court of Thorns and Roses, by Sarah J. Maas. For me, design and aesthetics are all about romanticism and escapism. I gravitate unabashedly towards the whimsical and anything that sparkles. That’s why stars and the night sky was such a heavy theme in my mood board and why it has such a strong influence in the Mare e Cielo collection. Even when bringing in the influence of our Italian heritage with the Mare pieces, which was inspired by Italian beach culture and iconic Italian charm bracelets, as well as our beloved puppy, Leo, for the Space Puppy pieces, stars and the sky were always a theme, as starfish and a puppy traveling through outer space, respectively.”
