Vidiots

On the corner of Pico and 3rd Street is the key to recreating a piece of your wonder years: old-fashioned movie night. When you drove to the store and browsed for (and debated back and forth on) the perfect selection. When you made the call based upon cover art and a description on the back. Where you begged your parents to buy popcorn or sweets before paying. Now you are all grown up and streaming is the norm. That doesn't mean the good ol' movie night has to end. Vidiots is one of the last movie rental stores in LA and it's survival is no mystery. It's got a laid-back indie attitude and a super knowledgeable staff, which appeals to all movie lovers who miss the old experience. What you can't find on Netflix, you will find at Vidiots. Shelves are packed and organized into niche categories like vintage directors, decade, cult, UFOs and silent. Foreign films are organized by country and director.

If you are even more of a movie snob, owners Patty and Cathy created Vidiots Annex, for those who want to learn more about their favorite films and genres. It is an ongoing series of workshops, which include screenings, lectures and industry guests.
